Logo finalised!!

So it took its time, i guess the name was a big factor in this whole thing.. but i have finally settled for not only a logo but my name  Hilda Mae.. What do you think? Now i know i will develop different styles and opinions in the coming months/years and my logo will develop alongside and its exciting to think what it will eventuate to?

Hilda Mae, was developed from my Grans name Hilda, who in person is so individual and unique it inspires me to do the same and therefore the name followed. Here are a few more pics from the shoot with added branding! 

 

So here i sit in the office on a dreary Monday lunchtime planning my next lot of outfits to shoot. I'm hoping Thursday afternoon sunset on the jetty! please please rain go away! But tonight i better get the boyf birthday cake sorted out how am i supposed to top my fishing cake from last year?

My first photoshoot

So i have been given an amazing opportunity to use my clothing in my first 'official' photoshoot.. more about this later, so as i do when things begin to come together.. i panic. It doesn't stop me from getting things done i just start to over think and things become a mess!.. but after a couple days i stepped back to look at everything a little clearer - i planned a 'practice' photoshoot with my bf and also my model.


Today... After awaking at some ungodly hour (for a saturday)- i finish of one of my garments to use in the shoot and wait upon the always late bf.. lucky she supplied me with coffee!

This is the first time i have had the opportunity to see my clothing in how i have imagined.. And just quietly i am quite pleased.. But not only that i am even more excited, as this is only a tiny step to what i envision for myself. Here are a few more of the shots we took today! hope you like..

I just had to show the last picture -its a fact i have converted my friend into not so ballerina poses! was so much fun to work together and now i have (kinda) got the jist of my new camera i wont be so scared to start shooting more of my clothes! So what do you think? Id love some feedback- no matter positive or not it all helps. xx:)

Anyway i have realised over the weekend i have a whole lot to do before i can launch any of my designs. Here they are,
Nail down a name.. Hilda Daisy?
Get a sample label made.. Do i stick with Hilda Daisy as my name?
Decide on what logo i will use.
Photograph my stock,
Photograph stock for my look book,
Decide on etsy or ebay,
Learn how to create a store and use html (if i need to)..
AHHHH
I currently have 49 items.. mostly completely stated from scratch and a few individual vintage pieces which i think accentuate my label!
Well bed time 6am Gym then Monday morning start of the working week, gee i wish i could pause time i would get a whole lot more done! xx

So iv been brain storming on a name for my label... I originally wanted to use my name as the brand but am now thinking otherwise!

Hilda Daisy....

I could have a completely different name when i eventually release my stuff but for right now I'm happy :))
What do u think :) My sewing machine broke late last night I'm hoping it was just because i was tired that i couldn't fix it! I'll have to wait until i leave work to figure it out!

I also had a little clothes fitting last night with my model.. i think she was trained to well as a dancer -well lets wait till i get a hold of that! I decided to search for some inspirational shots for practise.. lucky her!!!!

New Fabrics!!

A couple of new fabrics i found from a beautiful Vintage Store 'Shop 55'!! Also one of my new designs i thought i might put up.. 
Plans for my Online Shop are still up in the air Ebay or Etsy?? I guess i still have a few months to decide.. i plan to have a good amount of stock before i start promoting my garments. So 'Leigh Anne' Facebook page etc will still be a while away.
This blog will probably sound silly to others seeing as nobody knows anything about me or my plans, i think its a great way to document my story!

In the very very early stages of creating my first Clothing line. All a bit much trying to balance right now with my full time job, eating sleeping and seeing the bf! 

Had a stall in inspiration or rather a hiccup in my last creation which got me flustered... And now have thrown that design in the bin! i don't want to waste time trying to save it as it might also do my head in.. I'm impatient in that respect.

So i decided to start my inspiration book which has got the ball rolling again, in the sense of sitting in my office at work when my mind is on my stool at home with the sewing machine!!! So not in a physical sense but i have new designs I'm eager 

to get started :)

Thought i would start a blog to look back on my 'hope to be' progress.. 

I hope to start my shop by the end of the year! So we will see!!! xxx :))
